Knowing my great love for shoes and the difficult time I have in letting them go, when I started doing some "shoe cleansing" my husband had this great idea of creating my own little "shoe box in the sky" for all my retired shoes. Part of my difficulty in getting rid of shoes is losing the memories (I know, I'm lame). This blog will give me a chance to record any memories I have of the shoes. This first post will have a lot of shoes due to the aforementioned cleansing. (By the way, if you see any shoes you might want, let me know and you can try them out; otherwise I will be taking them all to DI. They are all about size 7 or 7 1/2.)
Some summer sandals I got at Payless during my freshman year of college (when my shoe collection really started to grow).
Sandals from Bakers--my favorite shoe store for many years. I was very sad when it disappeared from the University Mall. I went to Bakers with my sister, Janae. I bought these and Janae bought the next ones down. I always loved hers so she gave them to me after her mission.
I love the little roses on these! I got them at the Jumbo when I was living in Chile.
Another great Payless purchase. Severin calls these my "Lamanite sandals".
Got these at Forever Young Shoes...my temporary favorite after Bakers was gone. They have some FUN shoes there.
I believe these are a Walmart original. Love the sequins. :)
Don't remember much about these ones, really...pretty sure they're from Payless.
Also from Payless...I seem to have a hard time resisting the summer sandals there.
Got these shoes to wear with my black slacks--for a long time they were the only shoes I had that would work with those pants. Now they finally get to retire.
I got these my sophomore year of college. My sister and I were going to preference together so I went out and got a new outfit (black skirt with pink ribbon at the bottom, fuzzy pink sweater, pink heart jewelry), then got these shoes to go with it.
Payless summer sandals. Need I say more?
My sister-in-law, Lyndi got these for me for my birthday a couple years ago. You can't go wrong with pink and purple.
I actually got these shoes at good old DI, but they are Steve Maddens. I went shopping at DI for the first time with my Aunt Carol and cousins and found two cute skirts and these shoes. Awesome deal, of course.
Oh why can't you be my size???? And why can't my hubby be a few inches taller? I did by two pairs of heels over the last couple days. They aren't too high. They are the first heels I've bought since Barry and I got together almost 10 years ago. I decided I don't care anymore. I just love heels.
ReplyDeletedude, there was a typo in that last comment...sorry, I know that drives us smith girls crazy. I forgot to mention that I love those forever young shoes. Those are cute!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I did introduce you to Bakers! That is something to be proud of! What a wonderful store. I loved those two pairs of sandals, too. Dang, those are cute. I wish I had smaller feet ... and a taller husband. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! J and I were totally laughing, but it's such a great idea. :) I too wish I wore the same shoe size.
ReplyDeleteI am totally loving this idea. I have a really hard time getting rid of shoes as well. What a fun way to remember!
ReplyDeleteDang. Whoever came up with this idea is a freaking genius! This is such a GREAT IDEA.
