On the clock...

So a couple months ago, my department was putting together a presentation at work for a Division Staff Meeting. The presentation was on accountability so our presentation was kind of a joke about how nobody took accountability for the presentation and we all some excuse for not being there. We put together a slideshow with picture of everybody doing whatever their excuse was. My excuse was that there was a huge sale at Payless so during work one day, I went to Payless with a few coworkers to get some pictures. I had to try on some shoes and such so we could get good pictures and I just happened to find a couple really cute pairs on sale. How could I not get them? I mean, really. So check out the slideshow at the bottom of the page and look for the "NEW!" tag.

So long, farewell...

Aren't these just fun? They're from Payless and totally machine washable (yep, that's terry cloth). I recently gave these to my sister, Janae, who wears them all the time thanks to their incredible comfort.

I've also gotten some new shoes in the last few months and have finally updated my slideshow. I marked the new shoes with a "NEW!" tag on the photo. :)

Another one bites the dust

Recently retired these ones: Payless summer sandals. I just can't help it.

Current Shoes

At the request of some (I'm sure you realize that this took SO much encouragement), I have posted a slideshow at the bottom of the page that shows all my current shoes. As I retire them, I will post the information about them, but until then you can at least see the pictures. :)

The Beginning of the End

Knowing my great love for shoes and the difficult time I have in letting them go, when I started doing some "shoe cleansing" my husband had this great idea of creating my own little "shoe box in the sky" for all my retired shoes. Part of my difficulty in getting rid of shoes is losing the memories (I know, I'm lame). This blog will give me a chance to record any memories I have of the shoes. This first post will have a lot of shoes due to the aforementioned cleansing. (By the way, if you see any shoes you might want, let me know and you can try them out; otherwise I will be taking them all to DI. They are all about size 7 or 7 1/2.)

Some summer sandals I got at Payless during my freshman year of college (when my shoe collection really started to grow).

Sandals from Bakers--my favorite shoe store for many years. I was very sad when it disappeared from the University Mall. I went to Bakers with my sister, Janae. I bought these and Janae bought the next ones down. I always loved hers so she gave them to me after her mission.

I love the little roses on these! I got them at the Jumbo when I was living in Chile.

Another great Payless purchase. Severin calls these my "Lamanite sandals".

Got these at Forever Young Shoes...my temporary favorite after Bakers was gone. They have some FUN shoes there.

I believe these are a Walmart original. Love the sequins. :)

Don't remember much about these ones, really...pretty sure they're from Payless.

Also from Payless...I seem to have a hard time resisting the summer sandals there.

Got these shoes to wear with my black slacks--for a long time they were the only shoes I had that would work with those pants. Now they finally get to retire.

I got these my sophomore year of college. My sister and I were going to preference together so I went out and got a new outfit (black skirt with pink ribbon at the bottom, fuzzy pink sweater, pink heart jewelry), then got these shoes to go with it.

Payless summer sandals. Need I say more?

My sister-in-law, Lyndi got these for me for my birthday a couple years ago. You can't go wrong with pink and purple.

I actually got these shoes at good old DI, but they are Steve Maddens. I went shopping at DI for the first time with my Aunt Carol and cousins and found two cute skirts and these shoes. Awesome deal, of course.
